MICROFINANCE MANAGER

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a mature, results-driven, and highly experienced Microfinance Manager to join a growing financial services company in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the overall microfinance operations, ensuring sustainable loan portfolio growth, maintaining portfolio quality, and strengthening credit risk management systems. The ideal candidate should be professional, strategic, and capable of leading a team effectively while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily operations of the microfinance department.
• Develop and implement strategies to grow and maintain a healthy loan portfolio.
• Ensure proper credit appraisal, loan disbursement, monitoring, and recovery processes.
• Monitor portfolio quality and control Portfolio at Risk (PAR).
• Supervise and support credit officers and other microfinance staff.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance and financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
• Manage client relationships and resolve escalated issues.
• Identify new market opportunities and expansion strategies.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• From 4 years’ proven experience in microfinance operations and managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of credit risk management and loan portfolio management.
• Proven leadership and team supervision skills.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
