Financial Reporting Accountant

Job Summary:

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Accountant (Workshop) to oversee financial reporting, cost control, and accounting functions related to fleet and workshop operations. The ideal candidate will have strong auditing experience, deep knowledge of fleet/automotive financial processes, and the ability to drive cost efficiency across workshop activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate financial and management reports for workshop and fleet operations
• Manage accounting for fuel expenses, vehicle maintenance, spare parts, tyres, lubricants, and workshop inventory
• Oversee financial controls related to drivers, machine operators, and workshop processes
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports, and cost analysis
• Analyze fleet performance (vehicle utilization, downtime, cost per km, and cost per trip/work)
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, Tanzania tax laws, and audit requirements
• Coordinate with workshop, fleet, and logistics teams to validate financial and operational data
• Manage insurance claims, accident cost recovery, and fleet risk
• Monitor procurement and stores controls for spare parts and consumables
• Develop cost-saving strategies in fuel efficiency and maintenance planning
• Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA (T) qualification (mandatory)
•  Auditing background (mandatory)
•  Minimum 5 years’ experience in transportation, fleet, logistics, or automotive industries
•  Strong capacity in managing fuel costs, maintenance accounting, spare parts controls, and driver/operator-related financial processes
•  Proven experience preparing management accounts, financial statements, budgets, and variance analysis
•  Advanced MS Excel skills
•  Proficiency in accounting systems
•  Strong knowledge of IFRS and Tanzania tax compliance
•  Experience in fleet cost control and performance analytics
